End of the road

First of all, congratulations to Vaisnava! His song "Fly" took the top spot in April's Overall Round in impressive
fashion. Great job! You can click here for the full results.
But sadly, Vaisnava will go into the books as the final winner of the Novus Compo.
I had reason for optimism when the number of votes spiked up slightly in March, but that vote total was still less than
impressive. And it was followed by yet another record low vote-total for the month of April.
On top of that, this was the fourth month in a row where the voting closed without there being enough entries to run
the next month's compo. I've had to resort to e-mailing people who voted but didn't enter songs, asking them to enter a
song to keep the compo going. I could've done that again this month, but frankly, it was getting old.
And all of this while I'm still trying to juggle two jobs plus an absolutely unprecedented run of mini-crises in my
personal life...
Trying to keep this compo going has been difficult. If more people were participating in the compo, I would be more
willing to make the effort to keep the compo open despite the added strain it puts on my schedule. But the audience for
this compo is small and getting smaller, and it's reached the point where I no longer feel it's worth the trouble.
So, that's the end of the Novus Compo. At this point, my plans are to catch up on some areas of my personal life, and
then maybe start doing music reviews on Trax In Space and
CTG Music. For now, thank you to everyone who voted and participated
in the Novus Compo. It was a good try, and it was fun while it lasted.

April's Overall Round is open for voting!

The voters have spoken, and the results are in. For April's genre rounds, your winners
are Nikolay Suslov, C-Loud and Vaisnava! They now advance to April's Overall Round along with wild cards Klikaso and
Barry van Oudtshoorn. Congratulations to all 5 artists on a job well done!
For this month's Overall Round, we have an interesting situation: 4 of these 5 artists are making their first ever
appearance in the Overall Round, and the 5th, Barry van Oudtshoorn, has only made it here once before. That means there's
a lot of new blood in this Overall Round, and I'm really looking forward to seeing who wins for the month of April.

Daniel Somma wins February!

Congrats to Daniel Somma! He took an old tracker song from
Lizardking, gave it one hell of a makeover, and came up with
"Trans Atlantic 2007." And the
